Jail inmate in Jefferson County found unresponsive in her cell dies
An inmate at the Jefferson County Jail died on Monday after she was found unresponsive during a scheduled cell check.
An inmate at the Jefferson County Jail died Monday after she was found unresponsive during a scheduled cell check.
Deputies and medical staff initiated life-saving efforts but were unsuccessful, the sheriff’s office said in a Wednesday news release.
The woman was identified as 29-year-old Abby Angelo. She was booked into the jail on June 19 on failure to appear warrants in Jefferson and Adams counties drug cases, according to Colorado Bureau of Investigation records. She was also wanted for an identity theft case out of Broomfield.
An investigation into her death is ongoing.
