Homeless man found shot to death on San Jose creek trail
The man's body was discovered Saturday afternoon. San Jose Police are asking for anyone with information about the shooting contact officials.
A man was found shot to death on a creek trail in San Jose on Saturday afternoon, police said.
San Jose police said they received a report around 4 p.m. Saturday of a body on a trail in the area of Remillard Court and Story Road near Coyote Creek. Upon investigation, the man was discovered to have at least one gunshot wound.
It appeared the man was homeless and had been living in the area, police said. Authorities still are searching for a motive in the killing. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.
The killing is the 28th homicide of the year investigated by San Jose police. Overall, there have been 37 homicides recorded in the city this year, including nine people killed in the May 26 mass shooting at a VTA light-rail yard, which was investigated by the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.
