Blaine police are asking for the public’s help identifying a motorist who shot a woman’s motorcycle in a road rage incident Monday afternoon.

Officers were dispatched about 5:30 p.m. to the Kwik Trip convenience store at Naples Street and Lake Drive, where a woman told them a man in a white, early 2000s Volkswagen Passat had shot her motorcycle’s gas tank, according to a news release issued Wednesday by the Blaine Police Department.

The woman told police she was riding east on Lake Drive near Lexington Avenue when the driver of the Passat, which had heavy damage on its passenger side, pulled up beside her, fired a single shot and sped off.

She described the Passat driver as a middle-age, heavy-set white man, with brown hair and a scruffy beard.

Police asked anyone with information about the case to contact investigators at 763-427-1212.
